Established for nearly 60 years, we have earned a world-wide reputation as leading supplier of high performance precision engineering solutions for global market leaders. And we have ambitious plans for growth, along with Langstone Engineering, our sister company in the Precision Engineering Solutions group.

Since 2015 when the company was acquired by the current management team, the pace of growth has accelerated.

With an ongoing programme of investment, we specialise in gears and splines and provide specialist engineered components and bespoke engineering solutions to some of the world’s leading names. We supply a broad range of sectors including F1 and motorsport, aerospace, oil and gas, marine and defence.

Investing in the latest equipment, processes and skilled employees has been at the heart of our strategy. There’s also an impressive range of industry accreditations including ISO 9001, AS9100 rev D registration. We can meet exacting specifications and international standards including BS 3696, ISO 1328, DIN 3970, DIN 58420, JIS and AGMA.

We also have UKAS registration and a fully accredited laboratory for the reassurance of robust certification for all products.

And we go above and beyond. Our highly skilled team’s precision and experience means we can push the limits above and beyond the 2.0 to 3.0 micron norm. Our advanced capabilities mean we can provide our customers with gears between 0.5 up to 12.0 module and be of DIN quality 3 or equivalent.

From small beginnings

Since starting life in the 1960’s, the one constant has been our Tamworth location, in the heart of the UK’s manufacturing region.  

From being a specialist toolmaker supplying Birmingham’s automotive market, demand for our expertise soon grew as industries stipulated increasingly accurate power transmission components.

Master gears and spline gauge production started in 1987, with the addition of the fully accredited UKAS laboratory in 1990.

By the 1990s, the capability for high accuracy service and short lead times led to expansion into the aerospace sector, quickly followed by supplying high precision timing gears for F1 – a sector where we have long-standing partnerships. Since 2001, our expertise in the production of specialist thread gauges further expanded our sector service to the oil and gas industries.
